The Melbourne Cup Polo Tournament, 2 - 11 November 2007

Full Details:
MelbourneCup2007 NOMINATIONFORM

30 Jul 2007

TO: the Australian Polo Community

Dear All

I write to advise that after significant consultation with the Australian Polo Community, the Melbourne Cup Polo Tournament for 2008 will have a handicap of between 12 – 14 goals. This reduction (from 14 – 16 goal) is aimed at securing the support of the high goal teams that we have historically, as well as new teams for whom 14 goal is achievable.

The tournament will commence on Friday, 2 November and as usual run through the following week, playing every day there is not racing, with the final to be played on Sunday, 11 November.

The Melbourne Cup remains one of the most prestigious tournaments in the Australian Polo Calendar, and with new fields in 2008, increasing focus around linking polo and racing, and the promise of a great spread of Australian and international teams and players, this year’s tournament is already attracting much excitement.

Please call me on 0418 104 080 or the Tournament Manager, Paul Roberts on 0417 571 988 should you have any questions. Nomination forms will be out in the coming weeks and I look forward to seeing you in Melbourne.

Yours sincerely
