Important Reminder – APF Registration Requirements and Penalties.

NO REGISTRATION, NO PLAY

The Australian Polo Federation (APF) reminds all players that it is their individual responsibility to ensure they hold current APF registration before taking to the field at any APF-sanctioned event.

Under the APF Rules of Polo, all players must hold current registration to participate in matches, organised games and club chukkas conducted by affiliated clubs.

Being nominated for a tournament, included in a team or having played previously does not mean your registration is current.

Penalties for Playing Without Registration

Under the APF Disciplinary Regulations – Schedule 1, Guidelines on Penalties, the specified penalty for playing in club chukkas or tournaments without paid membership is:

Up to a one-month suspension and/or a $1,000 fine.

Due to ongoing instances of players participating in polo without current registration, the APF is reinforcing its enforcement of these requirements.

A $500 fine will be issued by the APF to players found to have participated in an APF-sanctioned event without current registration.

Second and subsequent offences will attract further disciplinary action, which may include increased fines and/or suspension from playing polo, in accordance with the APF Disciplinary Regulations.

Check Your Registration Before You Play

All players are reminded to check their registration status through GameDay before participating in any polo activity.

Please ensure that:

  • Your APF registration is current and active.

  • Your membership has been renewed for the applicable season.

  • Your registration is correctly recorded in GameDay.

It is the player's responsibility to ensure they are registered before taking to the field.

The APF appreciates the cooperation of all players in ensuring compliance with these requirements.
