HPA Commonwealth Team invitation, 29 July 2023

24 Mar 2023

Thank you to the players who nominated. HPA have put these names forward to their committee for consideration.
-------------------------------------

HPA invites nominations from Australian players to be part of a Commonwealth Team at King's Coronation Cup, 29 July 2023.

Players would need to self fund travel etc and be mounted, so we realise this may put an emphasis on those players that are already in England at the time.

To nominate - Please forward your name, handicap, contact details and confirmation you can provide own horses, by Sunday 19 March 2023 to apf@australianpolo.com.au

INVITATION DETAILS FROM THE HPA:

In 2023, the year of Coronation of the His Majesty King Charles III, the HPA will be celebrating this memorable year and recognising HM The King as Head of the Commonwealth, by challenging two Commonwealth represented teams against England on July 29th in the UK.

The first match will see a Young England team take on the first Commonwealth team, followed by the full England team compete against the best of the Commonwealth for the King’s Coronation Cup.

As a member of the Commonwealth and in celebration of HM The King’s role as Head of the Commonwealth the HPA would like to invite Australia to put  forward any players to be considered for the 4 places available in the first match to play against the  Young England team. The Commonwealth team for this first match will not be age restricted but would need to be able to compete and be mounted for a 4-chukka match between 8-15 goals which will be decided when we have the nominations.

Fred Mannix of Canada has accepted the invitation to once again Captain the Senior Commonwealth team for the King’s Coronation Cup. Fred is already busy organising and building the support for both teams via the Commonwealth Associations.
