3rd Manipur Women's Polo Tournament - AUSTRALIA match update

The semi finals were played against the USA and despite a strong start from the Australians leading 2 - 0 at half time, the USA managed to come back and even the score in the final chukker. In the last 30 seconds of the game they managed to run away with the ball and score the decider. Final score was 3-2. Unfortunately for Australia this drew their campaign to a close.
18.01.2018 The Australia's Ladies Polo team is off to a great start in India!!
The first match for Australia was up against the Manipur B team. Australia have been put in pool 2 alongside the USA and Manipur B. Pool 1 consists of Kenya, Manipur A and the Indian Polo Association.
The opening ceremony was a great event with fantastic speeches and entertainment as well as a parade of all the teams. Following this, Kenya was up against Manipur A. In what was a thrilling game and fantastic horsemanship the Kenyans came out on top winning 5-2.
The next game was between Australia and Manipur B. The stands were filled with excited fans and supporters for the local team. The Australians started strong and scored the first two goals quickly off the mark. In the second, they were able to keep the momentum and score another two with a fantastic neck shot goal from Alessia to finish the chukka! The Manipuris fought back in the third and got a great goal from good team work and smart play. In the fourth chukka, the Australians scored another fantastic goal although it was quickly answered for by the Manipuris. The final score was 6-2 in favour of Australia. The next match for Australia will be up against the USA on Friday.
